Jessy Mendiola opened up about a “fat memo” that she has received from the higher ups of the Kapamilya network and how it has affected her. The actress who is known to be one of the most looked up to in terms of fitness shared that she went through depression after she has gotten the memo for her to lose weight during the time that she was not in her best shape.

“I got very depressed, parang dumating ako sa point na, ‘Ah, ‘eto na lang pala talaga ang halaga ko.’ Kung hindi ako sexy, wala akong projects at hindi nila ako makikita as who I am,” said Jessy.

“At first, it made me sad. I thought na kahit pa mag-gain ako ng weight, okay lang. Pero nabanggit ko nga na it’s part of my job. Tinanggap ko siya and I challenged myself at nakita naman ang result with the help of my workout and this Amazing Grape Juice with Garcinia Cambogia na talagang nakatulong para pumayat ako,” shared Jessy.

Now Jessy can definitely say that she is tip top shape as she has lost over 25 lbs since she got the memo and is now in a better place. “From 140 lbs nasa 115-120 lbs na lang ako. Luis [Manzano] is very happy for me kasi simula nang naging kami, struggle talaga sa akin ang magpapayat at nakita niya yung journey ko. Kaya nung nalaman niya na naabot ko yung goal ko, yung gusto kong ma-achieve, he’s very happy for me.”

Jessy clarified that her decision to be in better shape was not because of the bashing that she got but because she wanted to be a better version of herself. “Sa mga nagsasabi na, ‘Ay, nagpapayat siya kasi binash siya,‘ it’s not that. It’s more that I wanted to feel good, so I started being healthy.”

Now Jessy is set to return to the big screen for the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival for the film The Girl In The Orange Dress in which she stars in with Jericho Rosales.

With the pressures of showbiz upon Jessy, we’re glad that something good came out of it!
