Local Movies You Should Watch This February

One of the things to look forward to every month are the movies to catch in the cinemas, and in the month of February, we see every kind of romance play out in the big screen. As the month of love and all things kilig, people flock at the theaters to try and get that romantic feeling all of us want to experience.

And with excellent movies such as the following, we’re already feeling the love in the air:

Changing Partners

Directed by Dan Villegas, Changing Partners is a movie musical follows the story of Alex and Cris, a couple 15 years apart. First released as a competing film for Cinema One Originals and won Audience Choice Award and is now distributed by Star Cinema for its nationwide release.

Since its premiere on January 30, Changing Partners has been receiving good reviews both from the public and critics.

Mr. And Mrs. Cruz


From the writers and makers of Kita Kita, Mr. and Mrs. Cruz is an unusual love story of two people who met while they were on vacation. Despite their differences on their views on love and marriage, the two hit it off but would the magic stay once their vacation is over?

Starring JC Santos and Ryza Cenon, this unconventional love story has been receiving positive reviews.

Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes

Starring veteran actresses Angelica Panganiban and Judy Ann Santos, Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes is a comedy film directed by Jun Lana, award winning director of Die Beautiful and Barber’s Tales. The film is the story of a pair of devoted wives who find their husbands to be in a secret, gay relationship.

Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes is one of the top-rated films of this year, with everyone raving about its right portrayal of the LGBT community.

Sin Island

Directed by Gino Santos, Sin Island tackles infidelity, love, and sin. Lead star Nathalie Hart talked to Star Cinema and gave a gist of the story. Nathalie narrated: “The movie is a bit intriguing. It’s about two married couples and their marriages are basically failing so may infidelity na drama. My character here, si Tasha, I have a very problematic marriage with my husband and ganoon din si Xian and Coleen, and then me and Xian will meet. Then the drama will start happening doon sa story.”

This is also the first time Xian Lim will star in a mature romantic drama. Netizens were instantly intrigued by the plot and also couldn’t wait to see the movie.

My Fairy Tail Love Story

Starring one of this generation’s hottest and most adorable love teams, My Fairy Tail Love Story is about a girl played by Janella Salvador who lives a princess-like life. One day, she woke up as a mermaid who can’t speak but can only sing. Together with her best friend Elmo Magalona, they figure out how to return Janella into a human again. Produced by The Idea First Company for Regal Entertainment and directed by Percival Intalan, My Fairy Tail Love Story is slated for release on February 14.

Netizens and of course ElNella fans are excited to see this one-of-a-kind film.
