This answer angered netizens as it seemed like Ricci was expecting Liza to adjust to his schedule.

Ricci was quick to apologize directly to Liza’s camp as he clarified that he was, “just trying to say that I don’t wanna go between Enrique and Liza because I respect the loveteams in the industry and I even said that Liza will always be Liza—so that simply means that she is already established as Liza.”

In a Facebook post by Ogie Diaz, Liza’s manager, answered some of the showbiz questions netizens asked him which included Ricci’s controversial answer about working with Liza.

Ogie shared the question asked by a netizen, “Mama Ogs, eh nabanggit mo na rin lang si Liza Soberano, ano masasabi mo du’n sa sinabi ni Ricci Rivero na kung mag-fit ang sked [schedule] niya, saka pa lang siya gagawa ng movie with Liza?”

Ogie then shared his reply, “Wa echos, hindi ako nainis kay Ricci no’n o nayabangan sa kanya.”

He even shared Liza’s reaction to the whole issue, “Actually, kahit si Liza, nu’ng kinwento ko ‘to sa kanya, nangiti na lang siya.”

“To be fair to Ricci, nag-text siya sa akin and he said, ‘Tito Ogie, super sorry po for what happened. I didn’t mean to say that in a bad way, but I was just trying to say that I don’t wanna go between Enrique and Liza because I respect the loveteams in the industry and I even said that Liza will always be Liza– so that simply means that she is already established as Liza. And who am I to say no? But I know it’s probably the way I said that statement so I’m sorry for that po. I hope you understand and not only you, but especially Liza… I look up to Liza rin naman po and I think you know that. I asked for a picture pa nga po, di ba?’ Yes, when he saw Liza sa “Ms. Possibilities,” nagpa-pic siya,” wrote Ogie.
