The Spartan Race is no ordinary race where anyone could simply place. It is filled with obstacle courses and tracks that would require one to be physically fit and fully trained to be able to take part in it. Finishing alone is a feat but placing means that you’ve bested hundreds of men and women who are at the top of their fitness game.

Alex Diaz placed third and shared his feelings about his whole experience through an Instagram post. He shares, “Capped off my 2nd race with a 3rd place medal! What a challenge Foressa turned out to be. This time around I really underestimated how hard a 5k race could be and it showed with the amount of burpees I did and my lack of training but every experience is a lesson and I will come back even stronger to complete my trifecta in September with the 21k in Subic 🙌🏻 Congrats to all the spartans that made it to the event— Its a great feeling to witness the Spartan community getting closer and closer! I can say though that this race was a lot of fun because of all the new and old friends I made in Cebu! Till the next race, AROO! 💪🏼”

Tony Labrusca placed first and was, of course, enthusiastic about it. He writes on his Instagram page, “What a crazy experience. I’m so humbled to have been able to participate in my very first spartan race. When I first started training I don’t think people around me really understood why I was training lol. But I was really determined. I wanted focus and drive in my life and I found that by being a spartan. The first times I trained felt like hell, it was always a mental and physical battle that left me beat up. Training to be a Spartan was honestly one of the hardest, most grueling things I’ve ever done and it’s true .. when you work hard enough for something, you really can accomplish amazing things. Even if it took going to the gym twice a day or going when I felt lazy and tired I had to get it done because I had a goal and I wasn’t going to give up till I crossed that finish line 💪🏽 I wouldn’t have made it if it wasn’t for my amazing coach who kicked my ass every single time at the gym @cegiehdthank you for believing in me 🤘🏽 and of course to the Spartan fam all of y’all were so encouraging ! And most of all , God. I give it all up to you ☝🏽🙏🏽”
